# ummute > Mute the um. Find your voice. ummute is a web app that helps you improve your spoken English and public speaking. It coaches the prosody of how you sound — pronunciation, intonation, word stress, and pace — by listening to a short recording, showing the shape of your delivery (your pitch drawn as a line, your speaking rate, where you rushed or flattened), and naming the one thing most worth fixing. Then you say it again. Key facts: - What it is for: improving spoken English, clearer pronunciation and intonation, and public speaking — the delivery that decides whether you are understood, not just words and grammar. - How it works: speak into the mic, the app measures your voice, and you get a plain note on what to change. Practice freely, against a library sentence, or through a short story. - Getting started: three free takes with no account, then a free Google sign-in to keep your history and progress. - Privacy: recordings are stored on AWS in the UK, never sold, and never used to train models. No advertising or tracking cookies; ad performance, when running ads, is measured server-side without cookies. - Made and hosted in the United Kingdom. ## Pages - [Home](https://ummute.com/): the practice loop — speak and see your delivery. - [About](https://ummute.com/about): what ummute listens for and why how you sound matters. - [Why ummute](https://ummute.com/why): why intonation, stress, and pace matter most in spoken English. - [Benefits](https://ummute.com/benefits): what improves — questions that land, stress where you mean it, a pace a listener can follow. - [How to use](https://ummute.com/how-it-works): the loop, the three ways to practice, and the free trial. - [Privacy](https://ummute.com/privacy): what is recorded, where it lives, and your rights. - [Terms](https://ummute.com/terms): plain terms for using the service. ## Contact - Email: contact.ummute@gmail.com
