Does ummute train models on my recordings?

No. ummute does not train models on your recordings or your messages. Google Gemini writes the replies on WhatsApp, so it receives your messages and transcripts. The privacy policy names every company that handles your data.

Where do my voice notes go?

On WhatsApp, a voice note is transcribed and measured, and the audio is deleted straight afterwards. The words and the measurements are kept. The web version keeps your takes so that you can hear them back. The privacy policy has every detail.

Can I have my data deleted?

Yes. Email contact.ummute@gmail.com and we will remove your data. We usually reply within a month. Our backups may keep a copy until they are next replaced.

Payment and refunds

Is payment safe?

Yes. Stripe takes the payment on its own checkout page, and ummute never sees your card details. Nothing is charged until you have chosen a plan, and cancelling stops the next payment.

How much does ummute cost?

Your first month is free. About three weeks in, we tell you what it costs after that, so you can decide before anything is charged. In Britain, a plan is £9.99 a month or £69.99 a year. Prices depend on the country you are in. The table further down shows each one.

What happens after the free month?

Nothing is charged by surprise. About three weeks into the month, ummute tells you what it costs, and you decide then whether to carry on.

How do I cancel?

Open your account and choose Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep the time you have already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. You have seven days to change your mind about anything you buy. Email contact.ummute@gmail.com within seven days and we will refund you to the card that paid. If you were charged twice, or charged after you cancelled, write to us and we will put it right.

How it works

How does ummute work?

You say hello on WhatsApp and tell it what is coming up, such as a viva, an interview or a meeting. It gives you a line to say, you send it as a voice note, and it tells you what it measured: your pace, your pauses, the word that carried the weight, and whether the end rose or fell.

Do I need to install an app or make an account?

No. If you have WhatsApp, you have all of it. There is nothing to install and no account to make. Say hello to +44 7435 981048.

What does ummute measure when I speak?

Four things on a voice note: your pace, where you paused, the word that carried the weight, and whether the end rose or fell. If it was not measured, it is not said. On WhatsApp it gives no score.

Which languages can I write in?

Write in English, Hinglish, or the language you think in: Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or Indonesian. It replies in Roman letters, and every practice line is in English.

Is there a web version?

Yes. The web version records you in a browser, draws your pitch as a line and gives a score out of a hundred. You can make a small number of free takes, and it keeps your takes once you sign in.

Is it a person?

No. Replies come from ummute itself, not from a member of staff, and it says so if you ask.

Can I send a photo or a document?

Not yet. Only typed messages and voice notes reach it.

Who is it for?

Adults, 18 and over, who are getting ready for something that matters to them.

How do I stop?

Send STOP and it sends no more replies. Send START whenever you want it back.
